Overview
The concept builds on the idea that people approaching or entering retirement should remain connected to their workplace community, so they don’t slip into isolation once they leave daily work life. The solution is a company-integrated digital platform that enables structured support, knowledge exchange and low-threshold social interaction between employees, retirees and relatives. It combines matching, local service information, communication tools and trained “Caring Officers” who carry the culture of support into the organization. The result is preserved expertise, strengthened belonging and proactive prevention of loneliness.

How we worked
The project was developed through a structured design process using feature mapping, need analysis, user journeys and iterative concept refinement. We explored the transition into retirement, identified emotional and social pain points, and mapped how companies could remain meaningful touchpoints in this life phase. The work combined qualitative research, service blueprinting, stakeholder mapping and business-oriented planning elements such as financial planning, feasibility considerations, organizational integration and agile management structures. The resulting concept merges human-centered insights with a realistic operational model involving a platform, volunteer engagement, company participation and trained Caring Officers.
